Ag Fair coming up A plethora of activities are in the works for this year's South Interlake Ag Society's Ag Fair next weekend.
The fair, to take place June 6 7 at the Ag Fair grounds just south of Stonewall on Hwy. There will also be a beer gardens for the adults, while activities such as a slide will be set up for the younger set. and a church service at noon. "We're really counting on trying to draw people's interest," she said. Jacob Funk with UCMA Racing stopped by the Argus to explain they'd be holding the event, which features down and dirty UTV and ATV racing, and said there may also be some trucks, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. He said while mud racing has existed for a number of years, UCMA has brought something new to the table in addition to the coach backpack usual singles time trial events, they've also started wheel to wheel racing down the track between five quads at a time as they race for the finish line down the 200 foot track.
He said he would like to see about 70 people registered to race, but said he wouldn't have final numbers until more pre registrations came in, explaining that most people don't pre register until the Wednesday before the race. He said UCMA has run snow cross events as well, but got into mud racing after there was a demand for more summer activities. Funk says their events in town have greatly benefitted from working with the coach outlet flemington nj Town of Stonewall in setting up the track.
