22 team end China tour with a bang PETALING JAYA: Malaysia have wrapped up their playing tour of China in style.
The national Under 22 team, who are preparing for the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games in August, defeated Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande reserves 3 0 at the Baining coach Football Training Base in Guangzhou yesterday. On Tuesday, the Malaysians fought back from being two goals down to hold Super League side Guangzhou R reserves to a 2 2 draw. The Chinese Super League side took the lead through Deng Zhiyao (21st minute) and Zhu Di (38th) before Safawi Rasid levelled the scores with a second half brace (47th, 53rd). Expectations are high on Malaysia to win the football title considered the mother of all gold medals at the KL Games from Aug 19 30. The football competition starts on Aug 14.
